Wrestling Icon Hulk Hogan

Legendary professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, has died at the age of 71 following a cardiac arrest, authorities confirmed on Friday morning.

Emergency services were called to Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Florida, where he was treated for cardiac arrest before being transported to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to revive him, Hogan was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Hogan was widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in professional wrestling history. Known for his trademark blonde mustache, bandanas, and charismatic in-ring persona, Hogan played a central role in transforming wrestling into a global pop culture phenomenon during the 1980s and beyond.

WWE, the global leader in professional wrestling, issued an official statement mourning the loss:

“WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

Hogan began his rise to fame in 1983 after signing with what was then known as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). He became an eight-time main event star at WrestleMania and was considered the face of the company for many years.

Over a career spanning more than four decades, Hogan’s presence in and out of the ring helped shape WWE’s global legacy. His last appearance with the organization occurred as recently as January 6 of this year.

Despite a period of controversy that led to his temporary removal from the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015, he was reinstated and honored once again in 2020.

In recent weeks, speculation about Hogan’s health circulated online, but his wife had denied any serious concerns, assuring fans he was recovering from previous medical procedures and “strong.”

Hogan’s passing has sent shockwaves through the wrestling community and among fans worldwide, many of whom grew up watching him deliver iconic promos and matches in the golden age of wrestling entertainment.

As tributes continue to pour in, Hogan will be remembered not only as a wrestling champion but also as a cultural icon whose impact extended far beyond the squared circle.
