Newly released Epstein flight logs include notable anchor known as ‘the most trusted man in America’
Recently released flight logs from Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet have named renowned news anchor Walter Cronkite as a passenger. The documents are part of a broader release of files related to the late convicted sex offender.
Cronkite, the legendary CBS journalist often called “the most trusted man in America,” was listed on a flight from New Jersey to St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands on January 12, 2007. He was 90 years old at the time of the trip.
The flight logs show he traveled with seven other people, including Epstein himself. The destination was near Epstein’s private island, Little St. James.
It is crucial to note that appearing on these flight logs does not imply any wrongdoing or knowledge of Epstein’s crimes. Many high-profile individuals are named in the records.
The file release also included testimony from former US attorney Alex Acosta. He defended his role in securing Epstein’s 2008 plea deal, which allowed Epstein to avoid federal charges.
Acosta stated the deal was a difficult compromise. He believed it was better to ensure the billionaire served some jail time as a registered sex offender than risk a trial that might fail.
Epstein was found dead in his jail cell in August 2019. The inclusion of Cronkite’s name adds another notable figure to the list of people connected to Epstein through his travel records.
