Fantastic Four star Julian McMahon dies aged 56 as wife releases heartbreaking statement

Australian actor Julian McMahon, best known for his roles in *Fantastic Four*, *Charmed*, and *Nip/Tuck*, has died at 56 after a battle with cancer. His wife, Kelly Paniagua, confirmed his passing in a heartfelt statement, describing him as someone who “loved life” and brought joy to many. Born in Australia, McMahon was the son of former Prime Minister William McMahon. He gained fame for his portrayal of Dr. Christian Troy in *Nip/Tuck* and Cole Turner in *Charmed*. He also played the villainous Doctor Doom in the *Fantastic Four* films.

McMahon’s wife shared that he cherished his family, friends, work, and fans. She requested privacy for the family as they grieve, urging others to continue finding joy in life, as Julian would have wanted.

His recent work included Netflix’s *The Residence*, canceled after one season, and CBS’s *FBI: Most Wanted*, from which he departed in 2022. McMahon called his time on the show a top professional experience.

McMahon was previously married to singer Dannii Minogue and actress Brooke Burns, with whom he shared a daughter. He married Paniagua in 2014.

His final public appearance was in March at the SXSW Film & TV Festival for *The Surfer*, co-starring Nicolas Cage. Stan and co-stars paid tribute, praising his talent and kindness.

Nicolas Cage remembered McMahon as a “kind and intelligent man” and one of his favorite collaborators. Producer Robert Connolly hailed his performance in *The Surfer* as a career highlight. McMahon’s legacy as a versatile and beloved actor endures.
