‘Crocodile Dundee’ Star Passed Away

Burt, the famous crocodile known for his role in *Crocodile Dundee*, has died at the age of more than 90. The Australian wildlife park where he lived in his later years announced the news on Instagram, marking the end of a remarkable chapter.

In a heartfelt statement, Crocosaurus Cove confirmed that Burt passed away peacefully over the weekend. The park described him as an iconic saltwater crocodile whose legacy stretched far beyond the screen.

Captured in the 1980s in the Reynolds River, Burt became one of the world’s most recognizable crocodiles. His appearance in the beloved Australian film helped cement the country’s global image as a land of rugged landscapes and extraordinary wildlife.

Burt rose to international fame in Crocodile Dundee, directed by Peter Fairman and starring Paul Hogan as the fearless adventurer Michael J. “Crocodile” Dundee. One of Burt’s most memorable scenes showed him lunging near a riverbank at an American reporter played by Linda Kozlowski.

The comedy became a worldwide hit, earning around $328 million at the box office and leading to two sequels. The film’s success also propelled Hogan to international stardom.

In 2008, Burt moved to Crocosaurus Cove, where he served as a powerful ambassador for crocodile education. Known for his strong-willed personality and fiery temperament, he earned admiration from caretakers and visitors alike.

To honor his legacy, the park plans to install a commemorative plaque. Burt’s life remains a lasting tribute to the strength and majesty of saltwater crocodiles.
