Barack Obama has brutal message to anyone ‘disappointed’ by Donald Trump’s actions as president

Former President Barack Obama has called on Democrats to take stronger action against the Trump administration’s policies. Recent polls show Trump’s approval rating at -7, with less than half of Americans supporting his leadership.

At a private fundraiser, Obama criticized Democrats for passivity, urging them to “toughen up” instead of complaining. “Now is exactly the time to get in there and do something,” he said, emphasizing the need for courage in defending democratic values.

Obama warned that the U.S. is drifting toward autocracy under Trump, comparing it to Hungary under Viktor Orbán. He stressed that current leadership disregards checks and balances, free speech, and fair governance.

“Don’t say you care about free speech and then stay quiet,” Obama said. He encouraged Democrats to stand firm even when defending unpopular opinions, calling it essential for democracy.

The former president expressed concern that America is “dangerously close” to abandoning its democratic principles. While not yet an autocracy, he warned the trend is alarming.

Obama’s remarks come as Trump faces backlash over controversial policies. He urged Democrats to actively resist rather than retreat into frustration.

The speech highlights growing tensions within U.S. politics, with Obama framing the 2024 election as a critical battle for democracy’s survival. His message: Complacency is not an option.
