Doctors sound alarm as 281million Americans are living with deadly health condition and don’t know it
A vast majority of Americans are unknowingly living with a significant health threat. Medical professionals report that ninety percent of adults exhibit signs of a newly identified condition.
This disorder is known as CKM syndrome, a dangerous combination of cardiovascular, kidney, and metabolic ailments. It can progressively and silently damage a person’s health over many years.
Dr. Eduardo Sanchez of the American Heart Association has labeled the condition’s prevalence as “shockingly common.” He explains that the heart, kidneys, and metabolism are deeply interconnected; the failure of one often triggers problems in the others.
Despite its widespread impact, public awareness remains critically low. A mere 12% of the population has any knowledge of CKM syndrome, even as an estimated 281 million Americans meet its diagnostic criteria.
There is, however, a hopeful aspect to this silent epidemic. Experts confirm that early intervention can reverse much of the damage. Proactive lifestyle changes are the most effective defense.
Improving one’s diet, increasing physical activity, and carefully monitoring blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels are crucial steps. These actions have the potential to save millions of lives.
As Dr. Sanchez optimistically notes, while graying hair is an inevitable part of aging, CKM syndrome does not have to be. This serves as a vital reminder to understand our internal health before its decline becomes visibly irreversible.
