Inside J.D. Vance’s family life: Meet the Future VP’s Adorable Trio — Ewan, Vivek & Baby Mirabel

J.D. Vance: From Vice President to Devoted Dad

J.D. Vance may be stepping into the White House as Donald Trump’s vice president, but at home, he’s simply known as “Dad.” The Hillbilly Elegy author and former Ohio senator is making political headlines while balancing life with his three young children.

Vance and his wife, Usha, are proud parents to Ewan (7), Vivek (4), and Mirabel (2). Though they keep their family life private, occasional glimpses reveal a close-knit household that keeps the rising political figure grounded.

A Senate Floor Surprise
In February 2024, during a Senate debate over Ukraine, Vance paused to wish his middle child, Vivek, a happy birthday. “Daddy loves you very much,” he said, before reading Oh, The Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss — adding Vivek’s name to the final verse. The six-minute moment drew national attention and reminded viewers that even politicians have tender family ties.

Welcoming Baby Mirabel
The couple’s youngest, Mirabel Rose, was born just before Christmas in 2021. Vance marked the occasion in a now-deleted Instagram post, writing, “We were blessed with an early Christmas present… Mama and baby both doing great.”

A Private Family in the Spotlight
The Vances’ oldest, Ewan, made his quiet debut in 2017, with Megyn Kelly congratulating the couple online, writing, “He’s beautiful.”

Now preparing for life in Washington, the Vance family faces a new chapter. Whether they stay private or step into the public eye, one thing remains clear — to his kids, J.D. Vance is first and foremost just Dad.
