Donald Trump shares why he doubts he’ll reach heaven

During a flight on Air Force One, former President Donald Trump expressed doubt about his prospects of reaching heaven. He made this candid remark to reporters while traveling to Israel, following a significant hostage release between Israel and Hamas.

The trip coincided with the freeing of the final 20 hostages held in Gaza for two years. Trump highlighted this development as part of a major peace agreement, also noting that Israeli forces now control 53% of Gaza as part of the plan’s initial phase.

A reporter questioned Trump about his previous August comments, where he suggested that saving lives might improve his chances of getting to heaven. When asked if the recent peace deal had bettered his odds, Trump offered a surprisingly pessimistic view.

He responded, “I’m being a little cute. I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in heaven.” Trump speculated that he might already be in heaven while aboard Air Force One, but ultimately conceded, “I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make heaven.”

This spiritual reflection follows reports that his campaign had used the “get to heaven” theme in fundraising emails. These messages, verified by Snopes, linked his survival of an assassination attempt to a divine mission.

Trump also took the opportunity to criticize the Biden administration. He claimed the war in Ukraine would not have occurred if the 2020 election had not been “rigged,” labeling the current leadership as “incompetent.”

Throughout, Trump connected his political actions to a broader mission, stating he has “made life a lot better for a lot of people.” He continues to frame his efforts as a force for global good, despite his personal doubts about a heavenly reward.
