ICE facility shooting leaves multiple

A shooting occurred at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas, resulting in multiple casualties. The incident took place in the early morning, with police responding to the scene around 6:40 a.m. local time.

According to reports, the gunman is deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The individual has not yet been publicly identified by authorities. The attack resulted in three people being shot.

Tragically, one victim died at the scene. It has been reported that some of the victims were individuals being detained at the facility at the time of the shooting. No ICE agents were reported among those shot or injured.

Acting ICE director Todd Lyons provided details, suggesting the shooter was a “possible sniper.” The gunman allegedly fired from an elevated position within an adjacent building.

The targeted facility is used to process detainees before they are transferred to a long-term detention center. It typically holds a small number of people at a time.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem commented on the attack, noting that a motive is still unknown. She stated that ICE law enforcement is facing “unprecedented violence” and called for it to stop.

Vice President JD Vance also reacted, describing the event as an “obsessive attack on law enforcement.” Both officials offered prayers for the victims and their families as the investigation continues.
