During a memorial service for her husband, Erika Kirk shared poignant details about Charlie Kirk’s death. The service was held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and was also live-streamed online.
Erika recounted the tragic event at Utah Valley University. Charlie Kirk was addressing a large crowd as part of his ‘American Comeback’ tour when he was shot in the neck.
He later died from his injuries. A 22-year-old suspect, Tyler Robinson, was arrested and has since learned that prosecutors will seek the death penalty.
Speaking to the attendees, Erika described viewing her husband’s body. She noted that even in death, she could see the man she loved, including a single grey hair she had never mentioned to him.
She also observed a faint smile on his lips. Erika interpreted this as a sign of a great mercy from God amidst the tragedy.
Erika revealed that the attending surgeon had confirmed her belief. The doctor told her that Charlie’s death was instantaneous and that he did not suffer.
Separately, a TPUSA spokesperson addressed online speculation about the gunshot wound. He quoted the surgeon, who expressed that the high-caliber bullet should have exited the body but did not, calling it another miracle.
