Legendary Italian Fashion Designer Passed Away At Age 91
Italian fashion icon Giorgio Armani has passed away at the age of 91. The renowned designer, celebrated for defining modern Italian elegance, built a global brand known for its timeless style and sharp business acumen.
Over five decades, he grew his company into a fashion powerhouse. It generated approximately 2.3 billion euros in annual revenue.
In an official statement, the Armani Group expressed “infinite sorrow” at the loss of its founder. The company referred to him as its “tireless driving force” and emphasized that employees felt like part of a family.
The group committed to honoring his legacy by continuing to operate with “respect, responsibility, and love.” A funeral chamber will be open in Milan, Armani’s longtime home, this weekend.
Armani had been in poor health recently. For the first time in his career, he was unable to attend his brand’s shows during Milan Men’s Fashion Week in June.
Born in 1934, Armani became one of the most influential designers in history. He was known for his sleek, minimalist designs that redefined business wear in the 1980s.
Beyond fashion, Armani was also a noted philanthropist. He supported medical research, humanitarian causes, and disaster relief throughout his life.
