Barack Obama Reacts to Running for Third Term During Jesse Jackson Funeral

Former Presidents Bill Clinton and Joe Biden, also Democrats, spoke Friday at a funeral service for Jackson, a civil rights icon who died in February. Former Vice President Kamala Harris also spoke during the service. During his address, Obama praised Jackson’s legacy, noting his presidential runs in the 1980s paved the way for other Black political leaders, including himself to do the same, the Associated Press reported. While Obama has not indicated he would be interested in running for a third term, Republican President Donald Trump has repeatedly suggested he could do so but has also acknowledged that he would be unable to do so. The 22nd Amendment prohibits a president from running for a third term.
