Whoopi Goldberg breaks silence over claims she dated Jeffrey Epstein
Whoopi Goldberg has addressed recent claims linking her to Jeffrey Epstein after her name appeared multiple times in newly released Department of Justice files. The documents reference Goldberg 21 times, sparking online rumors that she had a personal relationship with him.
Speaking on The View, Goldberg firmly rejected the speculation. She explained that her name appeared only because of a single email concerning travel logistics for a charity event in Monaco.
Goldberg said her previously scheduled flight had been canceled, prompting organizers to search for alternative transportation. An email noted that a private jet was being sought to fly her to the event.
She clarified that the trip was tied to a charity connected to Julian Lennon, not Epstein. According to Goldberg, the foundation was responsible for expenses and had reached out broadly to private jet owners for assistance.
Goldberg emphasized that she never flew on any plane associated with Epstein and had no personal or professional relationship with him. She described the online reaction as unfair and based on assumptions rather than evidence.
Co-host Joy Behar noted that many public figures appear in such records without implication of wrongdoing. Goldberg agreed, saying she was being wrongly portrayed as more than a peripheral mention.
The documents also list numerous celebrities, but legal analysts stress that inclusion in the files alone does not suggest misconduct or any direct connection to Epstein.
