Donald Trump’s ‘repugnant’ behaviour with Saudi Crown Prince horrifies Americans

During his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Washington D.C., former President Donald Trump sparked significant controversy. The visit, aimed at strengthening US-Saudi ties, included discussions on defense and major Saudi investments in American sectors like AI and tech.

Following their talks, Trump designated Saudi Arabia a major non-NATO ally, facilitating access to advanced military hardware, including F-35 fighter jets. The event also featured a black-tie dinner attended by prominent figures like Cristiano Ronaldo, Elon Musk, and Tim Cook.

The controversy arose when Trump gave the Crown Prince a tour of the White House. He showed him a “Presidential Walk of Fame,” a collection of portraits of former presidents displayed in the West Wing.

Criticism focused on the portrait representing President Joe Biden. Instead of a photograph, Trump had displayed a picture of an autopen machine, a device used to replicate signatures.

This was a deliberate jab, referencing baseless claims from Trump’s administration that Biden relies on such a machine to sign important documents, which Biden’s team denies. In viral photos, the Crown Prince is seen laughing at the display.

The act was met with outrage from many observers. On social media, critics condemned Trump for mocking a former president in front of a foreign leader, calling the behavior “un-American” and a disgrace to the nation’s dignity.

Commenters described the move as childish and pathetic, arguing that it damaged national honor and demonstrated a focus on revenge rather than legitimate leadership.
