Charlie Kirk’s security chief finally explains ‘hand signals’ right before fatal shooting

In a podcast interview, Brian Harpole, the head of security for Charlie Kirk, has addressed conspiracy theories surrounding the conservative activist’s assassination. Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at an event on September 10.

Following the shooting, social media users analyzed footage and suggested security guards used hand signals moments before the shot, implying foreknowledge.

Harpole has completely shut down these rumors. He explained that his team communicates via radio, not hand signals, for any security matters.

He stated that if hand signals were ever used, they would be unambiguous and not resemble normal gestures like adjusting a hat or sleeve.

Harpole expressed confusion over the theories, noting a guard simply adjusting his hat is not a signal. He said the team would have looked to him for instruction if a real signal had been given.

He also expressed dismay over baseless conspiracy theories targeting Kirk’s widow, Erika, calling her a victim.

Harpole concluded that such unfounded accusations, which platforms allow to spread, cause him to lose faith in people.
