The Rise, Fall, and Redemption of Mike Wolfe: The Untold Story Behind a Beloved American Icon

Senator Joni Ernst has announced she will not seek reelection in 2026. She described the choice as difficult, reached after considerable prayer and reflection.

Ernst explained her decision is driven by a desire to give back to her family. She stated that after being raised with immense love and support, it is now her time to care for her aging and growing family.

She expressed deep affection for her state and country. This love, she said, originally motivated her to serve in the nation’s uniform and later run for elected office.

Ernst reflected on her unexpected journey from a “farm girl” to a lieutenant colonel and then a U.S. Senator. She acknowledged this as a uniquely American opportunity.

She noted that Iowans elected her 11 years ago as the first female combat veteran in the Senate. They did so with a specific mission for her to accomplish in Washington.

That mission, she stated, was to “make Washington squeal.” Ernst claimed she is proud to have delivered on this promise for her constituents.

She pointed to specific achievements, including cutting waste, fraud, and abuse across the federal government. Her work also reined in overburdensome rules and regulations.
