People Are Losing It Over Trump’s Embarrassing Act At Fifa Club World Cup Final That Left Players Confused

Donald Trump caused confusion and embarrassment during the FIFA World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday. Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0, but Trump’s unexpected pitch invasion stole some of the spotlight. According to *The Guardian*, he was booed when his face appeared on the big screen.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino was also present but stepped away from the spotlight. Trump, however, stayed beside the players, awkwardly inserting himself into their trophy celebration. The athletes seemed unsure how to react, forced to share the moment with him.

*USA Today* reported that Chelsea player Cole Palmer noticed Trump wasn’t moving and asked teammate Reece James, *“Wait, wait, what’s he doing?”* James reportedly asked Trump, *“Are you going to leave?”* but received no response.

After the match, Palmer admitted his confusion, saying, *“I knew he was going to be there, but I didn’t know he’d be on the stand where we lift the trophy.”* Fans online were equally baffled by Trump’s behavior.

One Reddit user compared him to *“a child at another kid’s birthday party trying to blow out the candles.”* Others called the moment *“absolutely embarrassing,”* while another joked about Infantino repeatedly trying to usher Trump offstage.

Trump later told DAZN, *“It’s a big thing… Gianni’s a friend of mine.”* He praised FIFA’s growth but called Chelsea’s win *“a little bit of an upset.”*

The incident left many questioning why Trump insisted on overshadowing the players’ achievement, further fueling criticism of his self-centered tendencies.
