Awkward moment Donald Trump shuns Keir Starmer in front of world leaders

During an international summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, a notably awkward encounter occurred between US President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The incident unfolded as Trump was delivering a speech to the assembled world leaders.

While addressing the crowd, President Trump publicly questioned the United Kingdom’s presence, asking, “Where is United Kingdom, where’s our friend?” As he turned to look behind him, his gaze fell upon Prime Minister Starmer, who was standing nearby.

Trump then gestured for Starmer to come forward, and the two leaders briefly shook hands. Their exchange was exceedingly short, with Trump inquiring if everything was good and noting that it was “very nice that you’re here.”

Immediately after this brief comment, President Trump turned his back on the Prime Minister to resume his speech. This left Keir Starmer standing awkwardly in place, visibly isolated after the abrupt end to the interaction.

Compounding the slight, President Trump did not use Starmer’s name at any point during their exchange. The Labour leader was then left with no choice but to silently return to his original position, his expression clearly conveying his discomfort.

This was not the only unusual diplomatic moment involving the US President at the gathering. In another strange interaction, Trump shared a conspicuously protracted and awkward handshake with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Furthermore, President Trump made a comment about Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, digressing during his speech to refer to her as a “beautiful woman.” These incidents collectively highlighted a series of unconventional diplomatic exchanges at the summit.
