The White House issues bizarre response after audio of Donald Trump threatening Russia is leaked

A newly surfaced audio recording captures former President Donald Trump claiming he warned Vladimir Putin he would *”bomb the s\*\*t out of Moscow”* if Russia invaded Ukraine. The clip, obtained by journalists and featured in their book *2024*, was reportedly recorded at a private fundraiser last year.

In the recording, Trump criticizes President Joe Biden while discussing foreign policy, asserting that Russia’s Ukraine invasion would never have happened under his administration. He recounts telling Putin, *”If you go into Ukraine, I’m going to bomb Moscow,”* and when the Russian leader doubted him, Trump replied, *”Way.”*

This isn’t the first time Trump has made such claims—he repeated a similar threat on the campaign trail last October. While he hasn’t publicly addressed the leaked audio, the White House responded indirectly.

Deputy press secretary Anna Kelly emphasized that Russia *did not* invade Ukraine during Trump’s presidency, crediting his *”peace through strength”* approach and *”America First”* policies.

Trump has recently ramped up criticism of Putin, accusing him of spreading *”bulls\*\*t”* in Ukraine negotiations and hinting at potential new sanctions. The leaked remarks add fuel to ongoing debates over Trump’s foreign policy tactics as he campaigns for a second term.
