New survey shows a surprising number of people support impeaching Donald Trump

A recent poll reveals significant support for a potential third impeachment of President Donald Trump. Conducted in key congressional swing districts, the survey shows 46% of likely 2026 voters support impeachment, with 45% expressing strong support.

The polling firm described these results as “remarkable and unprecedented,” noting the high level of support so early in a presidential term. This comes despite Trump being the only U.S. president to have been impeached twice previously.

Constitutional lawyers have identified numerous grounds for a new impeachment. Among the 25 potential charges are accusations of military overreach, such as deploying the National Guard in U.S. cities and threatening Chicago.

Further allegations include the weaponization of federal agencies. Critics argue Trump has hollowed out the Department of Justice and FBI to target political rivals, exemplified by the resignation of a prosecutor who refused such cases.

The “Impeach Trump Again” campaign also cites attacks on free speech, pointing to threats against ABC affiliates airing Jimmy Kimmel’s show after it featured criticism of the president.

Aggressive immigration policies are another focal point. These include expanded ICE raids, attempts to deport refugee children without due process, and a new detention facility raising human rights concerns.

Legal experts from the group Free Speech For People warn that Trump’s actions represent an “existential moment” for American democracy. They are urging Congress to initiate impeachment proceedings to hold the president accountable.
