Dolly Parton Cancels Shows Due To ‘Serious Health Issue’

Dolly Parton has announced the postponement of her planned six-concert Las Vegas residency, originally scheduled for this year. The shows will now be held in September 2026.

The singer explained the delay is due to a need for a medical “100,000-mile checkup.” She assured fans she is not retiring but needs time to address her health.

Parton emphasized that she wants to be at her best for the demanding performances and could not currently prepare the high-quality show she envisions. She pledged to return to the stage when fully recovered.

During her recovery period, Parton will continue her other work from her Nashville base. This includes recording music and developing projects for stage and screen.

The postponement is a significant shift, as this residency would have been her first extended engagement in Las Vegas in over three decades. It follows a year of both personal loss, with the death of her husband, and professional activity.

The rescheduled dates align with a busy 2026 for Parton, which also includes the planned Broadway debut of a musical about her life. She framed the delay as a practical step, not a reduction in her long-term plans.

Ticketholders are being directed to the venue for new arrangements. Parton’s message blended gratitude with a straightforward explanation, focusing on delivering a top-tier experience for her audience in 2026.
