Dem. firebrand Jasmine Crockett takes to CNN to

Shortly before the memorial service for Charlie Kirk, Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett criticized the slain activist, describing him as racist. During a CNN interview with Dana Bash, Crockett explained her opposition to a congressional resolution honoring Kirk.

Crockett, one of 58 Democrats who voted against the measure, noted that most opposing votes came from people of color. She attributed this to what she characterized as Kirk’s history of targeting minorities with his rhetoric.

The Texas representative also referenced personal criticism from Kirk, who had discussed her negatively on his podcast just a month earlier. She expressed unwillingness to honor someone whose views, she believed, contradicted the values of civil rights advocacy.

Meanwhile, Kirk’s memorial drew over 200,000 mourners to State Farm Stadium in Arizona. Former President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other officials attended the service.

Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow, is set to succeed him as head of Turning Point USA. In a recent interview, she shared her thoughts on the legal proceedings against her husband’s alleged killer.

She expressed that she does not wish to influence the decision on whether the defendant should face the death penalty, preferring to leave that judgment to the government and her faith.

Erika also recounted the emotional moment she learned of the shooting and her final visit with Charlie at the hospital, where she recalled seeing a peaceful expression on his face.
