Donald Trump claims some names in the Epstein files “shouldn’t be included,” making a startling statement

In a press conference, former President Donald Trump expressed reservations about the contents of the Jeffrey Epstein files. He suggested that some individuals named within them “don’t deserve to be there,” arguing that innocent people could be unfairly implicated because the financier “knew everybody in Palm Beach.”

Trump stated he supports keeping the investigation open but emphasized the need to protect those who are innocent. When asked if he backed releasing the files to the House Oversight Committee, he confirmed his support for transparency.

He revealed that he instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi to provide “everything you can give them.” However, he simultaneously dismissed the extensive investigation into Epstein as “a Democrat hoax.”

This comes amid significant public and political pressure on the administration to release the records. There has been widespread speculation that the files could contain a list of powerful associates connected to Epstein.

Despite earlier hesitation from the Department of Justice, the administration ultimately decided to release all FBI files related to the case. Officials had previously denied the existence of any such “client list.”

Trump questioned the files’ credibility, claiming they were controlled by his political enemies. He asserted that figures like James Comey, Merrick Garland, and Joe Biden would have already weaponized any damaging information against him.

The press conference was primarily held to announce that the 2026 World Cup draw would occur at Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center. This event will bring a significant economic and cultural spotlight to the capital.
