Born on November 8th, 1935, near Paris, a boy named Alain entered the world who would grow to be considered one of his era’s most handsome men. His early life, however, was far from glamorous.

His mother was a pharmacist, but she later became a cashier at a cinema opened by Alain’s father. This family unit was short-lived, as his parents separated when he was just three years old.

Both of his parents went on to remarry other people. This created new families for Alain, giving him half-siblings from his parents’ subsequent marriages.

His mother and her new husband, a butcher, had little time for the boy. To care for him, they hired a nanny, leaving Alain to feel he was living between two separate households.

He later confessed that while this situation seemed enjoyable at first, it eventually made him feel deeply uncared for and unimportant. These feelings were reflected in his poor performance at school.

Alain was a troublesome student, frequently expelled for mischievous behavior. This pattern forced him to change schools often throughout his childhood.

His early career path was unstable. He first trained as a butcher but quit after only three months, later finding work in a store. A stint in the Army followed, which he credited with positively shaping his character, before he eventually returned to civilian life as a waiter.
