Doctors were baffled by his condition. \u201cWhen he came out I was quite shocked (\u2026) I didn\u2019t think a human, or a little baby, could ever look like that,\u201d Tomm\u2019s dad, Geoff, told 60 Minutes Australia. Despite the surprising ultrasound results, his parents decided to keep the baby, embarking on a challenging journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2021\/10\/05203945\/tomtennent.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Medical Mystery<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tomm\u2019s excessive skin puzzled medical experts. He spent two and a half months in a medical center undergoing tests. Researchers eventually noticed similarities between Tomm and the wrinkled Chinese Shar Pei dog breed. They discovered that Tomm\u2019s Hyaluronic acid level was 100 times higher than normal, similar to Shar Pei puppies. Thankfully, as with the puppies, the condition was expected to improve with age, which it did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2021\/10\/05203938\/tennent1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Growing Up<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tomm faced challenges, including teasing at school. However, he made many friends and remained a kind, loving person. In 2003, he said, \u201cNot really (\u2026) because they are my friends and they don\u2019t really care how I look like.\u201d His parents always believed that \u201cbeauty comes from within, and is more than skin deep.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2021\/10\/05203936\/mant1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Today<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now 28, Tomm leads a happy life in Frankston, Victoria, Australia, with his wife, Hannah. His Facebook quote, \u201cLife\u2019s simple. You make choices, and you don\u2019t look back,\u201d reflects his positive outlook.
